The Art and Science of Mycology

Join Myco Alliance for an introductory class on the art and science of Mycology - the scientific study of fungi, a diverse kingdom consisting of over 5 million individual species capable of adapting to any medium or surface, both in forests and in cities. This course consists of two main parts.

The first, science, will focus on basic terminology, taxonomy, species identification, evolution, and ecology.

The second part will focus on the artistic applications of the field – culinary, the art of cultivation, mushroom crafts, and related creative uses of fungi and mushrooms.

This class is an excellent primer for anyone looking to begin working with one of our most important allies of the natural world.
